Why I Do This...

Why I chose to be a Realtor®

People often ask others what they do for a living. It’s understandable, isn’t it? We often want to know what makes people tick, what makes them like us, or, not like us, what their everyday lives entail. We find it fascinating at times, when we discover the similarities and differences to our own profession.

My first job quickly landed me in sales, although I never considered myself a “salesperson”. Being “in sales” requires you to get to know a product, understand the features, value, and need. But, to me, what it really means is to understand who needs that product. Whether it’s a car, pen, phone, clothes or food, the product basically can sell itself, based on need. What it can’t do, is sell itself based on value. A phone is a phone, right? No….not all things are created equally!

Hence my reason for being a Realtor®. I don’t just sell homes, I provide value to my clients. Buyers, Sellers and Investors are unique, and so are their circumstances. I take the time to get to know my clients. What exactly are they searching for? What are their goals? Do they prefer to have me call them, or text them? Are they ready to begin now, or are they simply seeking information for a future “move”? Are they analytical or easy going? Can I make them laugh? These things are important to know about people. That’s what being a Real Estate Agent means - knowing and understanding people.

This is why I love what I do. I really do enjoy meeting new people, learning about their cultures, their everyday lives, their absolute requirements or “must haves” when buying, their financial expectations when selling, and aiming to meet each and every one of their goals.

So for me, the reason I do what I do is simply, because it makes me HAPPY.

If you do what you love, you’ll never have to work a day in your life
